Alternate CompAero & TurbAero Software Licenses By Flexware, Inc.
Flexware, Inc. is now authorized to license and resell the CompAero and TurbAero software systems. Due to my lack of familiarity with U.S. export requirements and procedures and problems of remaining current with them, Flexware is the only available source for licenses issued to users located outside of the U.S.
A Flexware issued single license may also offer some advantages over my direct-sale, single-user license in some cases. U.S. purchasers of single licenses may want to consider this alternative also. The differences are:
The Flexware license can be purchased by and owned by a company as well as an individual.
The software uses a Hasp (hardlock) USB security key to limit software use to one PC at any one time.
The software can be used by anyone who has the Hasp key attached to a USB port on his or her PC.
The purchaser can expect a nominal increase in cost associated with the Hasp key and Hasp software.
Support for the Hasp key and its related software is the sole responsibility of Flexware, Inc.
Users licensed by Flexware who want an updated installation CD must purchase it from Flexware, Inc.
To obtain the discount for single licenses of both systems, only one Hasp key will be supplied.
Except as noted above, Ron Aungier's general software support policy applies to Flexware licenses also. A software discount to Flexware is used to maintain the same end-user license fee structure for the basic software (except for the nominal Hasp related costs as noted above).
In effect, the Flexware single license is a single-CPU license rather than a single-user license. For companies expecting limited use by very few users, this may be a better option than the single-user license. Like direct-sales licenses, the software can be installed on more than one PC, but its usage is limited to one PC at a time. Flexware also supplies Hasp key protected company site-licenses for end-users who prefer the additional (internal) software security provided by the Hasp security keys. There are no other advantages to a Flexware site-license over a direct-sale site-license and the latter will normally be lower cost.
